For parents
How do I create an account and add my child?
Sign up with your email at frimsidekick.ca, then choose your child's grade and Canadian province. You'll generate a 4-digit PIN for each child so they can sign in on their own. One parent account can hold up to three children on the beta and Small plans.
How does my child sign in?
Children log in with just their 4-digit PIN on the child login page — no email address and no last name required. They pick their name from the list, enter the PIN, and land straight in their library.
What happens when my 60-day beta access ends? Will my child lose their progress?
Nothing is deleted when beta access ends. Your child's reading history, quiz results, and Art Gallery pieces all stay tied to your account — only the door locks. When you subscribe later, the same account reopens and everything is exactly as you left it. You can also ask to be extended in Admin → Beta testers.
Do I need to enter a credit card for the beta?
No. Redeeming a beta code writes a 60-day free-access row directly in your account. There is no checkout, no Stripe, and no card. A card is only ever needed if you later choose a paid subscription.
Can I download or print the parent guide?
Yes. Each passage has an English parent guide you can read on screen, print to PDF from your browser, or export from your Account page as a CSV or PDF. The printable view is formatted for clean, readable pages.
How do I delete my account and my child's data?
Open Account → Delete account. This starts a 30-day grace period during which you can cancel. After 30 days, your account and all child data are permanently removed — a requirement of Canadian privacy law. Nothing is deleted before then.
For kids
How do I log in with my PIN?
Go to the child login page, tap your name, and type the 4-digit PIN your parent made for you. You'll go straight to your library — no email or password to remember.
How do quizzes and the Art Gallery work?
When you pass a quiz with 70% or more, one piece of a hidden poster is revealed. A poster has 12 pieces, so finishing about 10 books (and their quizzes) completes a whole picture. Completed posters stay in your Art Gallery, and new posters keep appearing as you read more.
Can I listen to the story read out loud?
Yes. Every story has natural French narration with sentence highlighting. You can slow the audio down or speed it up, and tap any boxed word for its meaning. Use the play button at the top of the page to start the narration.
